This is a special place, not for everybody, but for those who seek a quiet, relaxed and laid back small resort off the beaten track, full of rustic charm. I endorse all the positive comments already published. I add a few comments which I didn't see mentioned. Parents of young children should be aware that the beautiful, clean little beach in front of the 10 or so bungalows is not typical of many of the beaches on Phu Quoc. The sea becomes deep very quickly here. especially at high tide. The bungalows are set back into the trees so do not impose upon the environment, however, this could also explain why the solar heating is not great at producing hot water. The restaurant offers a good and tasty selection of Vietnamese and western cuisine, all freshly cooked and at very resonable prices. The hotel encourages guests to book their meals early by offering a small discount, but more importantly your meal is ready at your chosen time. Most hotels in Vietnam provide two small bottles of water per day, per room, enough for a couple of mugs of coffee, and then charge premium rates for extra water. Here, litre size bottles are provided free of charge - you just take what you need. For those who like to watch tv there is also a selection of cable channels, including Netflix and K-plus, which televises Premier Leaague foofball matches live - this again is very unusual.

As with all the other reviews, access to the property was through a long unpaved road, but you are definitely on the right track! Secluded, not for those who want to be in the heart of a town/city, but we loved every bit of the peace and tranquility it gave. Only about a 15-min drive to Safari Phu Quoc and Grand World, through a paved road. Gold Sand arrange for someone to pick us from the airport, and we were warmly greeted as soon as we arrived. We had two rooms - a large family room for 4 of us (2 adults, 2 kids), and another for our parents. The family room was much bigger, so air-conditioning took a little while, while the other room was nice and cold. We stayed 4 nights and had most of our meals at Gold Sand. Simple, homecooked-style, probably the best meals we have had in Vietnam. Their in-house driver, Minh, took us on all our trips out and back to the resort and was a joy to chat with. Son makes sure to greet and chat with every table, every meal. We thought Phu Quoc would be one-time thing (safari for the kids), but after this hospitality... we definitely wish to come back again! <3

Son, the owner has created a very unspoiled and natural homestay resort which sits on the edge of a small clean beach - the photos don't do it justice. Him and Ming made us feel very welcome and after travelling North to South and after the craziness of HCM City this was the perfect place to relax. There's a fridge full of cold drinks and ice cream in the dining area to buy and lovely home cooked meals - the curry was amazing. Free use of kayaks was a bonus and foot washing hoses outside each bungalow was good. We stayed in a large beach facing bungalow which was clean and cool. Ming arranged a trip to star fish beach and helped us get to our next hotel on the beach south of Phu Quoc city - its commercialised and the sea here is full of rubbish and smells after a storm last night - in hindsight we wished we'd stayed longer at Gold Sand Beach. If you like a peaceful, remote setting with minimal people and no blaring music on a beautiful beach with a welcoming host....

If total relaxation is what you desire , surround by the sound of the waves , sand between your toes and hospitality that far exceeds any I have ever experienced, this is the place for you . The food is tasty and a great variety freshly prepared and served by the family . Son and his wife have a wonderful team to support him and the grounds are kept immaculate. Security provided by Lu , the family dog who only barks when non residents appear on the beach or at the entrance of the property . Bike rental available and also a driver available for tours or transfer from airport / ferry . A real joy to stay there , don’t think twice if a room is available take it with confidence you’ll enjoy beyond your expectations, I certainly did .

Gold Sands was idyllic. So peaceful. We booked to stay for 2 nights but stayed for 4. The bungalow was sparkling clean and comfortable and all the staff were so lovely and helpful. From walking along the beach and taking the scooter out we know we made the best choice with where to stay. This part was most peaceful and relaxed. The food was great and reasonably priced with big portion sizes. Breakfast was great. The seafood soup with rice noodles was my favourite 😊 You need your own transport ideally if you want to travel further afield easily. There is a beautiful, friendly dog at the property who is about to have puppies. (Good luck)!! ❤️ If we ever travel to Phu Quoc again we would 100% stay here.
